A Virtual Competition for the Entire Francophonie
A competition that encourages students to develop and pitch their business ideas.
The Mission
1.
Boost student participation
2.
Offer a more playful and challenging format
3.
Use an easy-to-use, interactive platform
1. A new communication strategy
To have a real impact on student participation in the competition, we teamed up with the ACEECF to build a brand-new communication strategy.
First, we wanted to introduce a fresh visual identity, one that created a fun and festive world. We called on the agency Les Damoiselles to design a range of graphic elements, which were used across social media, in the newsletter, and during the live event.
Once that was done, we reached out to every French-language entrepreneurship association in Canada. Beyond simply promoting the competition, we wanted to tap into the strength of their networks to build a broader contact list and reach even more student entrepreneurs.
As always, we used Mailerlite to build all the automations (emails, newsletters, registration confirmations, and more) to connect with both the associations and the students.
On top of that, we published a variety of content on the ACEECF’s Facebook page, always with the goal of boosting registrations for the competition.
2. A new competition format
To breathe new life into the competition, we proposed a completely new format to the ACEECF.
Drawing on our experience with the RJCCQ pitch competition, we chose to reuse some of the elements that had worked well. Certain questions asked in previous editions were dropped, and speaking time was shortened. The goal was to bring rhythm, speed, and fun. And it turned out to be quite the challenge for these young minds to answer the questions within the time allotted!
We also reorganized the themes so the presentations made more sense, both for the students and for the judges.
3. An easy-to-use platform
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that Airmeet is our favourite platform for managing and broadcasting live events.
It’s a genuinely simple platform to use, and it comes packed with features:
- Interface customization: logo, visuals, background;
- The ability to have up to 10 people on screen;
- A chat and emojis to interact with speakers and guests.
All participants had to do was turn on their camera and mic, and the event was ready to go!
