Comprehensive training for the Institut de planification financière
A training program for financial planners, featuring more than 3 hours of video and 2 hours of interactive content.
The Institut de planification financière (IPF) wanted to give financial planners an in-depth training on optimizing retirement decumulation. This subject, which touches on cash flow management, taxation and portfolio longevity, called for effective plain-language explanation to make it both accessible and engaging.
To meet this need, we designed an immersive 3-hour training that combined studio filming, motion graphics and artificial intelligence. Every module was built to maximize engagement, with scenarios, real-life stories and explanatory capsules.
This project was also a first for the IPF: the debut of its new brand and visual identity within a training program. We developed a cohesive visual world, adapting the graphic elements to the demands of e-learning and motion design. Delivered in SCORM and integrated into the IPF’s LMS, the training meets today’s standards for digital learning.
The mission
1.
Design an immersive training
2.
Make dense content accessible
3.
Integrate the new visual identity
How the project unfolded
The training had to be far more than a simple series of educational videos. So we adopted a modular structure, built around short, dynamic sequences. Each video capsule covered a specific topic in under 15 minutes, making the concepts easier to absorb.
To boost engagement, we relied on a mix of animated characters and life stories illustrating concrete situations. These characters were shot on a green screen before being integrated into motion design sequences. Artificial intelligence also played a key role, generating synthetic voices for certain modules and placing the characters in a variety of realistic settings.
Interactivity was central to the project. The training featured quizzes, case studies and capsules with experts who dug deeper into some of the more complex notions. Everything was assembled in Articulate 360 and delivered in SCORM format for seamless integration into the IPF’s LMS.
Adapting the new brand guidelines required meticulous work. We built an animation system aligned with the IPF’s visual identity, ensuring continuity between the training materials and the institutional image. This work anchored the training in a modern, professional approach, in step with the IPF’s new standards.
Results
This training didn’t just modernize the IPF’s educational offering — it also laid the groundwork for a repeatable format for its future content. Bringing in animation and interactive elements improved the learner experience, making the training more effective and more accessible.
