Content trends for 2025, according to Sparkling
Content trends for 2025: co-creating with AI, trust, the quest for imperfection, the shrinking space for average content, and more.
1. Emotion as the new scarce value
AI can spit out a text or an image in two seconds, but it doesn’t have emotions. The result: human emotion becomes the one ingredient machines can’t replicate 100%.
In 2025, authenticity, vulnerability and humour will make all the difference. Brands and creators who know how to touch hearts (real stories, small flaws, spontaneous humour) and tell the ups and downs will break through in this ocean of generic content.
In fact, the very first thing you read on our site is: “Content that hits the target.” That’s our goal, our mantra.
In a saturated world, emotion is a “scarce value.” It’s what sets us apart, and what algorithms can’t copy.
2. The return of “tribes”
In an age of information overload, targeting a broad audience no longer pays off as much. Micro-communities (built around specific interests) are taking over, because engagement there is intense, sincere and motivated. Private channels (Discord servers, SMS, Facebook groups) create a sense of belonging you won’t find on the big platforms.
Small groups, big impact. That’s why we put so much effort into our communities: La Gang des pigistes, Talents créatifs, and now our AI newsletter.
In these tribes, it’s the quality of exchanges and human connections that matters most. These are spaces where the human touch remains irreplaceable.
3. Experiences that gain value — in person… or live
We already spend too many hours glued to our screens, and we’re saturated with notifications.
Yes, in-person events (workshops, meetups, festivals) will keep gaining popularity. But we’ll also lean into live broadcasts (webinars, interactive livestreams) to bring back a “real” feel to the digital world.
In 2025, people will want immersive content that blends human closeness with the power of live online connection.
Sparkling has been producing virtual events since 2020 and will keep doing so in 2025 with the Rendez-vous de la création de contenu summits.
In-person meetups and live experiences become a refuge for those seeking something “real.”
4. Co-creating with AI
Instead of feeling threatened, many creators will collaborate with AI. The algorithm handles the repetitive side (mockups, drafts, ideation), while creators focus on vision, human angle and final polish.
In 2024, Sparkling became a genuine AI experimentation lab, and we’ll experiment even more in 2025.
The creator’s role is evolving: you become a conductor, using AI to amplify your vision rather than replace it.
5. Trust as a foundation
In a world where deepfakes and “fake news” are exploding, transparency becomes a precious asset. People want to know who’s speaking and how it was made. Showing your behind-the-scenes, pointing out where AI stepped in, or explaining the human part of the process — all of that builds credibility.
We believe factual content will keep growing in importance. That’s why we encourage brands and organizations to produce and share informative, educational and explanatory content, because it will be the best way to grow in 2025.
Sincerity and transparency will be the last line of defence against the noise of saturated feeds.
6. The quest for imperfection
AI generates hyper-smooth images and flawless text. Sometimes impressive, but it lacks soul. Showing your mistakes, telling your bloopers, sharing messy drafts — all of that creates a human connection.
Behind the scenes will matter as much as what’s out front.
Imperfections tell a story. They connect. Imperfection becomes a mark of sincerity.
7. The shrinking space for “average” content
Average or generic content will get lost in the crowd. Algorithms will drown out anything without a strong angle or emotion.
Expert voices will be even more in demand, since they bring precise knowledge and a unique perspective in a world saturated with repetition.
Content that stands out falls into two categories: the “wow” (exceptional, creative, surprising) and the “deeply human” (emotional, personal, sincere). Everything else? Invisible.
In a world where everything is produced at blistering speed by AI, attention will go to whatever offers real added value — whether that’s an unexpected angle or an authentic, memorable message.
8. “Mass intimacy”
Communicating at scale while still feeling like a one-on-one exchange — that’s the new challenge. Texts, personal newsletters, “secret” podcasts: they all feel closer.
Creating a sense of intimacy at scale is an art. Tools like podcasts or personalized newsletters let you reach a large number of people on a deeply personal level.
9. Cross-disciplinary collaborations
In 2025, the most interesting projects will come from mixing expertise. AI will play a supporting role (or act as a technical conductor), but humans will lead. Sparkling positions itself in this space with Talents créatifs. We also want to train as many creators as possible in AI.
The richest collaborations are the ones where humans orchestrate AI to create a whole that goes beyond silos.
10. A new standard for “added value”
In short, 2025 will reward everything that can’t be duplicated by an algorithm. Emotion, imperfection, sincerity, human-scale communities, experiences (live or offline)… all of it will matter enormously.
Content that teaches, explains and informs will be at the heart of what people consume.
In a world saturated with generated content, it’s authenticity, emotion and education that will make all the difference.
